1. I Wake You Up, CD
"Boogie Junction" Die Besetzung 1990 war Teil der schon damals agilen Mannheimer Musikszene. Die Band schlug mit dem Projekt "I Wake You up" - ein Mix aus Jazz und verschiedenen populären Stilen - sehr gut ein. Sogar "World Of Music" besprach die Produktion in seinem Musikmagazin sehr positiv. Dieser musikalische Ausflug sollte für Marc-Henning Galperin ("MHG") aber einzigartig bleiben. Alle Musiker haben anschließend beachtliche Karrieren gemacht.
("Boogie Junction" The line-up in 1990 was part of the already lively Mannheim music scene. The band's project "I Wake You up" - a mix of jazz and various popular styles - was very successful. Even "World Of Music" reviewed the production very positively in its music magazine. However, this musical excursion was to remain unique for Marc-Henning Galperin (MHG). 2. Six Hands Chaser, LP / CD
1991 trafen sich die Pianisten Christoph Rois, Jo Schumacher und MHG in der Bösendorfer Fabrik in Wien, um im hauseigenen Studio auf zwei Bösendorfer Imperial Flügeln eine Platte aufzunehmen. Nein, es ist keine übliche Scheibe dieses Genres geworden. Vielmehr verschmelzen in dieser Session individuelle Stile zu einem einzigen musikalischen Dialog. Es entstanden aus dem Nichts unerwartete melodische Figuren; diese Momente, welche auf einer Bühne nicht reproduzierbar sind. Zeugnisse sind nur in Form dieser Aufnahmen geblieben; verfeinert durch den wunderbaren Tonmeister Gerhard Wesely.
(In 1991, the pianists Christoph Rois, Jo Schumacher and MHG met in the Bösendorfer factory in Vienna to record a record in the in-house studio on two Bösendorfer Imperial grand pianos. 3. Boogie Woogie Thunderstorm, CD
Ulli Kron und MHG sind seit vielen Jahren gemeinsam aufgetreten. Klar, dass sich das positiv auf die Live-Aufnahmen des Piano-Duos aus dem bekannten Farmhouse-Jazz-Club in Harsewinkel 1992 auswirkt. Nach ein paar Stücken war die aufgebaute Technik vergessen und die Session ging ab. Dafür gab es immerhin eine Nominierung für den "Deutschen Schallplattenpreis".
(Ulli Kron and MHG have performed together for many years. It goes without saying that this had a positive effect on the piano duo's live recordings from the famous Farmhouse Jazz Club in Harsewinkel in 1992. After a few pieces, the set-up technology was forgotten and the session took off. At least they were nominated for the "German Record Award".)

Ein aufwändiges Projekt aus dem Jahre 2007. Sage und spiele 12 namhafte Gastmusiker plus MHG. Darunter Pianisten, Drummer, Sänger, Gitarrist, Bassist und Harpist. Darauf noch einmal zu hören: der Begründer der deutschen Blues-n-Boogie-Piano-Tradition Leopold Eustachius Christoph "Leo" von Knobelsdorff (1932 - 2013). Farewell Leo - wir sehen uns wieder...

5. It's Only Blues, LP 2018
"It's Only Blues"
Boogie Woogie und sein langsamer Freund Blues heißt die einzige "Spiel-Art", die sich speziell für das Solo-Klavier entwickelt hat. Dazu starke Gefühle: der Blues mit seinen Geschichten von menschlichen Enttäuschungen und der Boogie von seiner unbändigen Lebensfreude.
"The Art", in dem das Instrument und sein Partner, der Pianist, zu einem großen Ganzen verschmelzen und wie "aus einem Guß" immer neue, andere Figuren kreieren. Die Form entsteht während dieser Symbiose und jeder der hören will, wird sie spüren und fühlen als hielte er die Figur selbst in Händen. Aber nur für kurz Zeit, denn die Töne und ihre erzeugten Emotionen sind vergänglich und hallen nur kurz nach, bevor sie in der Unendlichkeit eines Musikraums wie Seifenblasen lautlos zerplatzen - es sei denn sie würden auf Medium festgehalten. Was aber nachhallt ist eine schöne Erinnerung, die Kraft der Musik.
Es gibt keine Notenblätter, nur die Kunst der Improvisation. Das ist das reizvolle an diesem junggebliebenen Stil und jeder Pianist gießt seine Form nach seinem Geschmack (wenn das Piano ihn denn läßt :-). Das macht die Figuren unendlich und nie langweilig; auch dann wenn sich der Pianist fremden Titeln zuwendet.
Auf der LP sind 10 Figuren-Abdrücke eingepresst. Aufnahmen neueren und älteren Datums. Das Ergebnis einer zweijährigen Arbeit mit Unterbrechungen. Nur der Flügel mit seinem Freund dem Pianisten, sonst (fast) nichts.
Das künstlerische Multitalent von der Nahe, Gerhard Engbarth, Tourneebegleiter unendlich vieler Bluesmusiker, hat dazu ganz persönliche Liner Notes beigetragen. Der bekannte Bluesforscher Karl-Gert zur Heide war bei der Titelauswahl behilflich. Eva Hennigs hat das schöne Back-Cover-Foto beim Boogie-Festival "The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection" 2017 in der "Fabrik" in Hamburg-Altona gemacht. Vielen Dank !
Danke an die vielen Menschen, die MHG in den vergangenen über vierzig Jahren getragen haben und allen Musikern und Freunden dieser Musik, mit denen er tolle Stunden verleben durfte und die ein oder andere Figur gebastelt oder zumindest doch gemacht habe. Sein bescheidener Beitrag aus 2017: "S' ist Nur Blues".
"It's Only Blues" - hope you like it ....
(Boogie Woogie and its slow friend Blues are the only "art of playing" that has been developed specifically for the solo piano. There are also strong emotions: the Blues with its stories of human disappointments and the Boogie with its unbridled joy of life.
"The Art" in which the instrument and its partner, the pianist, merge into a large whole and create ever new, different figures as if "from one mold". The form is created during this symbiosis and anyone who wants to listen will sense and feel it as if they were holding the figure in their own hands. But only for a short time, because the sounds and the emotions they generate are fleeting and only echo for a short time before they burst silently like soap bubbles in the infinity of a musical space - unless they are captured on a medium. But what echoes is a beautiful memory, the power of music.
There are no sheet music, only the art of improvisation. That is the attractive thing about this youthful style and every pianist molds his form according to his taste (if the piano lets him :-). This makes the figures endless and never boring; even when the pianist turns to unfamiliar titles.
There are 10 figure impressions pressed into the LP. Recent and older recordings. The result of two years of work with interruptions. Just the grand piano with his friend the pianist, otherwise (almost) nothing.
The artistic all-rounder from the Region Nahe, Gerhard Engbarth, tour companion of countless blues musicians, contributed very personal liner notes. The well-known blues researcher Karl-Gert zur Heide helped with the selection of titles. Eva Hennigs took the beautiful back cover photo at the boogie festival "The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection" 2017 in the "Fabrik" in Hamburg-Altona. Thank you very much!

Einen drehbaren flachen Teller, darauf eine runde Scheibe mit 2 spiralförmigen schwingungs-gebenden Rillen, Nadel und Trichter. Mehr braucht es nicht um selbst unter primitiven Bedingungen Musik hören zu können. Nicht von ungefähr reist eine kupferne Schallplatte mit einer Anleitung für den Bau eines Plattenspielers huckepack mit den Raumsonden "Voyager 1 und 2" seit 1977 in die Unendlichkeit. Stößt die Mega-LP auf intelligentes Leben mit der Fähigkeit Schall wahrzuneh-men und gelingt es dort den Plattenspieler nach der Anleitung zu bauen, erklingen u.a. das Spiritual "Dark Was The Night, Cold Was The Ground" von Blind Willie Johnson sowie der Rock 'n' Roll "Johnny B. Goode" von Chuck Berry. Schallplatten sind bei richtiger Lagerung und Behandlung unkaputtbar. Es wäre zu schön, wenn auch die zeitlose LP "It's Only Blues" so ein Stück Ewigkeit würde; sich 2117 noch irgendwo drehte. Diese kleine Hommage an die Heroen Otis Spann, Jimmy Yancey, Albert Ammons, Leo von Knobelsdorff, Vince Weber, Axel Zwingenberger, Hans-Georg Möller uva.
